Blues on the Green at Zilker Park. These last cool evenings before the heat descends are definitely cherished. Truly magnificent.

I don't know if it's the lack of free time or just the place I'm in but I relish small happy moments like these. Joyous.

Tubing down the San Marcos river today with friends. Beautiful, beautiful day.

There were a lot of elements in this book that I enjoyed - the multiple perspectives, the commentary on generational disconnect, the thoughts about modernization of society, but there were a few literary devices used that made the book feel heavy handed to me. The unusual use of second person really threw me, a major turn off. I never really felt connected to any of the characters and that, in the end, is what gives it only three stars for me.

We spent the weekend in Port Aransas, a nice little family get away. I have never been fond of the beach, but I am fond of watching my girls, who have not been getting along so well, buddy up for hours on end, enjoying sand and surf. We spent Saturday at the beach, all getting our share of sunburn. Sunday morning was just windy enough to keep us away from the ocean. Instead we opted for the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi. It was a great couple of days away.

Good friends came over for dinner with their brand new baby and Tessa fell in love. My baby with a baby.

Sitting in my yard, reading a book in the sunshine. The day could not possibly be more beautiful.

Perfect day for dinner outside at Lake Travis. Every day left before the heat settles in is one I treasure. Happiness right down to my belly.
